Privacy

Nostr Relays has no accounts, no analytics and no cookies. This page explains the little data that does move.

Your relay list

My list is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device unless you choose to download it or publish it to relays.

Directory and lookups

Directory pages, relay checks and profile lookups are fetched by our server from the profilestr API. The public key you look up is sent to that API. Nostr profiles and relay lists are public by design.

Live tests

Live tests open a WebSocket from your browser straight to the relay you are testing, so that relay sees your IP address like any nostr client would. Tests are read only and never publish events.

Publishing

When you publish a relay list, your NIP-07 extension signs the event. Nostr Relays never sees your private key. The signed event goes directly from your browser to the relays shown on screen.
